ABOUT US

STACY YONG, M.A., RP
REGISTERED PSYCHOTHERAPIST (CRPO)
"Make up your mind to not give up!"
Sometimes life inevitably gifts us with challenges that seem beyond our control and are overwhelming. I believe that during these times we have the opportunity to uncover our inherent strength and resilience, discover more about ourselves, gain insight, increase in faith, and hope into what is most important in life. It is my belief that by creating greater awareness, through support, we can better choose how we respond to these gifts that life gives us!
Stacy has been providing psychotherapy counselling for 21+ years and she is the founder of SoundMind Therapy Services. She has her Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology and her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Sociology. Stacy is a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario since it was established in 2015. She worked in this field of psychotherapy counselling for over 16 years at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto, ON in the area of mental health and addictions. She has extensive individual, couples, family and group therapy experience, working with diverse clients through a variety of life challenges. Stacy also provides Psychotherapy Counselling for post-MVA and WSIB clients.
In addition, Stacy, under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist, in a collaborative approach, also provides Assessments for post-MVA and WSIB clients.
My approach to healing is holistic (exploring emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical aspects of someone’s life). Why going to therapy does not mean you are weak or flawed
We strongly believe that people can grow when they go through difficulties and life challenges. Choosing to engage in therapy means that you have made a decision to make a change for better wellness even if you may feel fragmented or over-whelmed with life. Life is a gift, and on a neurological level, therapy can allow you to create healthy pathways in your brain which can replace problematic ones (neuroplasticity).
Therapy can help you to mature as a person, realize what is possible, and finally let go of the pain in order to heal. Although it may be challenging to enter this process, the reward is greatly fulfilling. We see people heal and achieve wellness goals often and it is truly a blessing to be apart of.
Contact us today and let's get you on your way to a SoundMind!
